Thankfulness

Thankfulness is a word we usually start to think about around thanksgiving because thanks is something we celebrate with thanksgiving. We start to do this in our culture. We see on TV and in the newspaper that they talk about thankfulness which leads us to think about thankfulness. On a personal note, at the thanksgiving dinner table in my family, we say one thing we have been grateful for. This has been a yearly tradition we do which helps my family remember the good things that have happened this year.  Something that I am thankful for is for lessons that have been learned through out my life. There are multiple lessons I have learned recently that really have helped define me as a person. I think lessons are really important to have and if you never encounter trial lessons in your life won't show as much growth. Lessons allow you to grow and change yourself to a better version.  Thankfulness can be shown in many ways. It can be shown verbally, in writing, in photos, o...

Favorite Place In Champaign-Urbana

Describe a favorite place in Champaign-Urbana (or your town, if you live outside CU). What do you like about it? What makes it unique? Champaign-Urbana is a town where there is prairie & farmland, historical buildings/landmarks, and a campus full of many people and buildings. The town is mid-sized not as big as Chicago but definitely not a small town like Tolono. Champaign-Urbana houses a lot of different people of all backgrounds especially since we have the University of Illinois which brings people from all over.  One of my favorite places in Champaign-Urbana is miniature golf at Old Orchard Lanes. It is put together well and is scenic with the waterfalls and turf walkways. The miniature golf course is 18 holes which is a good amount of holes because you can enjoy it for awhile. There is 2 different courses you can go on and they have different obstacles on each. The courses are about the same level but I always think the course on the right is more fun. It is one of t...

Memorable Meal

What was your most memorable meal? Where was it? What did you eat? Who were you with? Why was it memorable? One of my most memorable meals was eating sushi for the first time. I was with one of my best friends who I have know since I was younger. We were going out for dinner together that night and she suggested we go out to Kofushion for dinner because the food itself is super good but also the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing which meant we could dress up and take pictures there. Back in January 2021, I agreed to go to this restaurant I had never been to this restaurant because it had food I had never tried before. I thought I should just try it to see how it tastes because everyone always hypes up sushi. We got to the restaurant and sat down. The restaurant was gorgeous inside and had a beautiful blue color on the walls. My friend had been right about this place but I hadn't tried the food yet so I remained quiet. I looked at the menu and to my "surprise" found bas...

Blog #2 - Pets

Describe one of your pets. What do they like or dislike? What are some of their peculiar habits?   One of my pets Coco is a chocolate Labrador Retriever/Australian  Shepard mix. She is pretty slender, and would be called a medium sized dog. She is brown and has different variations of brown over her fur in spots. She also has lighter brown eyebrows which is funny for a dog to have. She has an Australian Shepard face but more of a Labrador Retriever body even though she is smaller than a purebred Labrador Retriever. She is 4 years old so she is still energetic but not as much as the puppy stage. Coco is a very special yet interesting dog. We got her from the humane society when she was 6 months old. She had been dropped off at the humane society after being neglected for 6 months to run around outdoors in the country. With this past trauma she is very skittish, timid, and barks at others when she is afraid. She does not like people coming around our h...

Blog #1 - All about my name

Blogging Prompt:  How do you feel about your name? What is the story behind your name? Do you ever wish you had a different name? If you go by a nickname, did you choose it yourself or was it chosen for you? Your name is really important throughout your life and is widely used. Teachers at school call you by your name, your parents, your friends, and your coworkers do as well. Your name is something that sticks with you throughout your life. When I think about how I feel about my name, I would say it is something I hear every day a large amount of times but is not something I get annoyed by usually. I think my name suits me well and is a name that can be used for my whole life (baby-adult). I feel that my name sounds pretty, is pretty easy to get right unless someone says (car-uh) and is easy to remember. Sometimes I think that I would want my name to be something else but at the end of the day, I like my name because it is not everyone's name, so it is original to me a...
